3 mountains in a week Mexico
A vacation climbing the highest mountains in Mexico.

Along with the climbs we will visit the points of greatest cultural interest near Mexico City.

The first days you climbed the Nevado de Toluca, the 4 highest peak in Mexico. It is a one-day climb of moderate difficulty that a regular climber with average abilities can achieve.

However, the next two volcanoes that you will climb on this vacation, Iztaccihuatl (Izta) and Pico de Orizaba are more serious and challenging.

Izta is the 3rd peak in Mexico with a wonderful ridge that with its ups and downs form the silhouette of a sleeping woman, above 4,800m you will find snow and two glaciers so it is necessary to use crampons and ice axe for your safety . Although it is not a technical peak is a long climb to reach the 5,220m that needs to start at 2 in the morning although it is a very tired mountain, it is achievable for regular climbers with good physical condition. To climb it is necessary from 14 to 17 hours.
There are no adequate words to describe the beauty of this mountain. At dawn we will be passing the refuge that is in the middle of the mountain with a breathtaking view of the steep crests that will take us to the top and behind us with the sun painting it in red the Popocatépetl volcano (the second highest volcano in Mexico which is not possible to climb because its activity) with its fumarole that joins the clouds.
This point is truly unique and will be one of your memories that will last forever.

Our climb of Pico de Orizaba a few days later will be completely a different mountain.
Intoxicated by your climbing in the Izta you will arrive at the Peak to see that it is a classic volcanic cone totally different from Izta. The Peak at 5,640m is the highest mountain in Mexico, the third in North America and one of the 7 volcanic peaks of the world.

The Peak is also a mountain that is not technical but because the upper part is a magnificent steep glacier it is necessary to use crampons and ice axe and you will you will be tied to the rope with the guide. The ascent to the peak also starts at 2 in the morning and takes from 12 to 15 hours in total. The sunrise will see you walking on the slopes of the glacier towards the impressive summit, illuminating the sky, the snow and the mountain with that tone that only those who have climbed can contemplate. This is also a mountain that requires the same physical condition and skill as the Izta but the effort is well rewarded with the magnificent views in all directions that this particular mountain offers us. This is a peak that will make you proud to be a climber.
