Come and enjoy this great climbing again !!!
Cotopaxi volcano, the second hightest peak in Ecuador (5897 m) is situated at 2 hours drive from Quito.
To climb the world’s highest active volcano, count on a round trip of 8 hours.
The classic of Ecuador, don't lose it... A beautiful experience….
Bearing in mind the altitude, participants should already be acclimatized and in good physical health.
Program:
Day 1:
Departure to the Cotopaxi National Park. Drive up at 4500 meters high and then by foot at the José Ribas refuge at 4800
meters alt. 45 minutes walk. Box lunch at the refuge. Glacier training to test the equipment and test the level of each
participant. Dinner.
Day 2:
Breakfast. At one o'clock in the morning ascent of the summit with our mountain guide.
Return to refuge at 10.00 am. Return to Quito around noon. End of the program.
NOTE:
It is also possible to carry out this program in 3 days / 2 nights doing an acclimatization program on the Cotopaxi South Face (Walk of 5 hours until 4800 meters).
This option allows a better acclimatization to the altitude. Night in a property in the countryside at 3200 meters above sea level (cabin with beds for 6 people or nights in tent), spectacular view on the volcano Cotopaxi from the camp site.
We provide ice axe, crampons, harness, rope and carabiners
